Welcome to the new revamped  website of Themadscotsman.com I have displayed out the pictures of my figures into their respective periods, and any new figures painted will be associated with their own pages, thus you will find the Timurids on their own page and so on. First I would like to thank a very old and dear friend, Kevin Dallimore who through the last 30 years, has given me, through his time, patience, and encouragement, the skills I have attained, I hope that this site reflects, in some small way the painting skills I have acquired from him, as in my humble opinion, he is the Worlds no1 Wargames painter, as attested by the many other painters who use his style. I would also like to thank you the visitor for taking your time to look around my site, where it might give you some encouragement to try your hand at painting, and lead you down the same road as myself, [not to buy hundreds of history books,]  into the next step, of engrossing yourself into your favorite armies period, and learning how they fought and maneuvered, thus reflecting that on the wargames table, with whatever rules you use, old and new.

The period I will be concentrating, most on, is the late 13th century till the late 16th century in the Middle East, and Central Asia, although you might find the odd Western infidel, lurking within the pages, ie: the Byzantines, [my first true wargames love army,]  I tend to use Essex figures, as the mix of their 25/28mm Crusaders Asiatic range, their old Persian range, and the Ottoman range all mix in well, to provide whole units of differently posed figures. you will also find some Redoubt, Artizan, and Gripping Beast figures within, but my first love wargames figures are Essex.

I will also be adding a page of the individual Essex figures with codes, as that seems to be one of the most popular questions I tend to get, amongst others, so please be patient, and I will get around to posting the pictures /codes, ASAP.

SO LET ME TELL YOU OF DAYS OF HIGH ADVENTURE.
WHATS NEW SECTION
Have added a new link on the links page to a very nice blog by Michael Butterfield, called Scimitar and Crescent Wargames, nice to see an admirer of the Essex mix of middle eastern and asiatic type cavalry, so please check out the S/C Wargames link on the links page.
